VBS volunteers work directly with our program participants, whether as crew leaders (who lead small groups of children throughout the week) or as teachers/aides (who teach a specific class during the week). While most positions require explicitly interacting with kids, there are also behind-the-scene positions, such as helping in the office, with photography/videography, and with lunch preparation. For a complete list of volunteer roles, visit the volunteer positions page.
Any individual wishing to volunteer at FEC Glendale’s VBS must meet the following requirements:
1. Currently be in the 6th grade or older
2. Be an active participant in a youth group/fellowship/church (non-FEC Glendale volunteers will need pastor/youth leader recommendations)
3. Fill out the proper paperwork (forms are found after registering–open in April)
4. Attend the orientation and prayer/set-up meetings
Failure to meet these requirements may result in an incomplete volunteer application. Volunteer positions are generally filled on a first-come, first-served basis but may also be determined by interests/gifts of each individual volunteer, where volunteers are most needed, and completeness of requirements.
